18th Annual Portland Zine Symposium to be held at The Wattles Boys & Girls Club in Lents.
Dates of the Symposium are: Saturday, July 28th and Sunday, July 29th.
Times: 11am-6pm both days.
Venue: The Wattles Boys & Girls Club 9330 SE Harold St., Portland, OR 97226

 

The Symposium will be free to attend and open to the public. Featuring Osa Atoe (NOLA)and Yumi Sakugawa (LA) as special guests. There will be over 120 tablers during the weekend, featuring different tablers each day. The Portland Zine Symposium received grants from the Precipice Fund and The Andy Warhol Foundation to fund programming during the weekend. This year the Symposium moved to The Wattles Boys & Girls Club which is a 5 minute walk from the Lents Town Center/ SE Foster MAX Green Line Stop. The event will feature an air-conditioned and ADA accessible venue with child care provided by the Marilyn Buck Abolitionist Collective.
In addition to tablers, there will also be free workshops and panels during the Symposium.

Founded in 2001,The Portland Zine Symposium is an organization that hosts, among other events, a yearly free conference and zine social exploring facets of independent publishing and DIY culture. Portland Zine Symposium remains committed to amplifying women and non-binary voices; supporting communities of color doing justice work; and through its nature, holding a beacon for zinesters writing their stories.
