PORTLAND ‘ZINE SYMPOSIUM HOSTS PANEL DISCUSSION ABOUT ALTERNATIVE COMMUNITY MEDIA
The Portland ‘Zine Symposium will be hosting a vital panel discussion about alternative community media, featuring Andre Middleton (Open Signal, XRayFM), Melanie Stevens (Miss Anthology, The Nat Turner Project), Zahir Janmohamed (The Racist Sandwich Podcast), and Israel Bayer (Street Roots). The panel will take place at Taborspace Copeland Commons Room on July 6 at 7pm. Taborspace is located at 5441 SE Belmont St. Portland, OR 97215. Sliding scale $7-$10. All proceeds go towards the operating costs of the symposium.

PORTLAND ZINE SYMPOSIUM PRESENTS
IDENTITIES & FUTURES: WOMEN AND NON-BINARY
FOLKS SPEAK OUT
Portland ‘Zine Symposium presents an exciting evening of female and non-binary voices at
HOLOCENE. The evening will begin with an indigenous opening ceremony by Layla
Woelfle-Deene. Headlining is DJ KM FIZZY (Kathy Foster of the Thermals, and Xray FM). Also
performing are, Melika Belhaj, Lillie Craw, Jene Ethridge, Pocha Radicales, Alise Sanchez,
Samantha Taylor, Graham Kahler, Eileen Chavez, and Emily Moroz. Fantastic animations will
be projected throughout the evening by artists, Daria Tessler, A’misa Chiu, and Tara Booth.
Doors open at 7pm. Show from 7:30pm-11am. Music until 1am. ADA Accessible space.

Tickets are sliding scale from $7-$10. OR! Bring a donation of sealed feminine hygiene supplies
for Columbia Shelter and pay $5. This new shelter was opened by Transition Projects for self
identified men, women and couples this winter. A portion of the doors will go to Sankofa
Collective Northwest (home to Portland’s Black LGBTQ community, formerly known as PFLAG
Portland Black Chapter) ; in support of their mission and efforts. There will be a raffle and a
merch table hosted by Portland Zine Symposium.
